Apartment FAQ

[section title=”I’d love to stay in one of your properties! What do I do next?”] The best place to start is by sending us an online inquiry with your name, travel dates and number of travelers. This form is found on every rental property details page and gives you a breakdown on availability and costs for your desired stay. It also gives us all of your contact information to give you a call to discuss your vacation details. If you would rather speak with a live person immediately, give us a call, during normal business hours. Once we have found the right property for your stay, we’ll send over a rental agreement that you will have 48 hours to complete and return to us via fax, or scanned and emailed. Your full balance is due immediately if your arrival date is less than 30 days from when you signed and returned your rental agreement.
[/section] [section title=”The property I selected isn’t available for my dates. Can you help?”] Certainly! Simply send us an email or give us a call. We’ll discuss your vacation needs and find you an alternative property that will ensure you a Great Escape. We do what it takes to find you the right property for your travels, even if that means suggesting a vacation listing through a competitor.
[/section] [section title=”Are there any fees in addition to the rental fee listed?”] Yes. We are required by the city to collect a transient occupancy tax (or TOT) of 10.5% for rentals that are booked for less than one month. The city uses these funds to keep our beaches and parks clean and beautiful for our enjoyment and market our city as a great tourist destination. We also require a cleaning/laundry fee that will vary per unit and time of stay. We do not hide any taxes, or add-on fees for our benefit. All of the fees required for your stay will be detailed as line-items on your rental agreement to ensure they are clear and easy to understand.
[/section] [section title=”How can I ensure the property is as advertised when I arrive?”] We pride ourselves in providing updated, immaculate residences to our guests and have a strict, white-glove cleaning, maintenance and management program in place to make sure that your quarters are clean and your supplies restocked upon arrival. If something is not cleaned or if you are not satisfied with the condition of the property, just give us a call and we’ll take care of it. Things like TV remotes stuck in a weird mode from the previous guest watching home movies or smoke alarms beeping due to batteries needing replacement due occur from time to time, but we’re more than happy to fix or assist with any issue and make sure your vacation is a Great Escape.
[/section] [section title=”How do we get the keys for our vacation rental?”] Prior to your arrival, we will send you all checking instruction and how to get the keys for the property you booked.
[/section] [section title=”What different payment options are available?”] We accept personal and cashier’s checks as well as credit cards via PayPal. Wire transfers are most common for international travelers. Because we do not ask for 50% of the total reservation up front like most vacation rental companies, if you choose to pay via credit card, we charge the small processing fee associated with PayPal of 2.9%.
[/section] [section title=”I’m an international guest – what payment options are available for me?’] Most of our international travelers wire us funds. We will provide you the necessary bank and SWIFT code information should you book with us.
[/section] [section title=”What is your cancelation policy?”] Please note, if cancelled, modified or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
[/section] [section title=”Do you allow pets?”] A few of our properties are pet friendly, and simply require signing our pet policy agreement. Any additional cleaning or repairs required due to the occupancy of the pet will be deducted from the security deposit. If at any time there are complaints from neighbors or reports of your pet becoming a nuisance, we will require you leave the property without a refund.
[/section] [section title=”Can we throw a party at your rental?”] No. Our properties are located in residential areas and often are in close proximity to neighbors. We respect our surrounding homeowners desire for peace and quiet in the neighborhood. The city of Chicago also requires a 24-hour noise ordinance that allows them to issue citations with fines up to $1,000.00 for you, the renter, for disturbing the peace.
[/section] [section title=”What is provided – towels, linens, etc.? And what should we bring?”] All of our residences provide the following: fresh bed linens and towels. Shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are personal items you should count on bringing. We do provide hair dryers. All kitchens are fully equipped. Not provided are cooking oils, etc., and related items that can spoil. Some locations also have spices, but these are not standard supply. An initial supply of paper towels and toilet tissue are provided as well. Should you use up that supply, you are asked to re-stock based on your personal needs. Each kitchen has an adequate amount of trash bags, sponges, etc.
[/section] [section title=”Do your units have Internet access?”] Yes. Most of our homes have Wi-Fi Internet access. User information is provided in the welcome booklet at each property.
[/section] [section title=”Who do we contact if we have questions or issues?”] Tee is your go-to for questions and issues. And she is on-call pretty much 24/7. We also have others on staff that can help with any question or issues that arise. We strive to make your vacation as easy and stress free as possible, so if you have a need, simply give us a call!
[/section] [section title=”Why should we choose CDR over staying at a hotel?”] Our guests love the homey accommodations that Chicago Daily Rentals provide and stay with us for a number of reasons. First, staying in a hotel can be double if not triple the cost of a well-equipped vacation rental. Often times a family of four or more require additional rooms to accommodate for everyone. CDR allow an entire family (and even additional friends and relatives) to stay together under one roof. Most hotels don’t have kitchens, forcing guests to eat out at restaurants for meals. At our vacation rentals, our guests can cook, snack and BBQ at their “home away from home”, saving money and offering a fun, casual environment for dining.
